Discontinuation of Tests
• Acid Phosphatase (effective 15th April 2007)
The use of acid phosphatase for detection and monitoring of prostatic carcinoma is now rarely used. Prostatic neoplasia should be monitored using a combination of Total and Free PSA which is reported as a ratio together with risk estimations for benign or malignant tumour.
